Amber Bayda Counselling & Consulting provides trauma-responsive therapy and professional consulting grounded in nervous system regulation, neurodiversity-affirming practice, and real-world experience within schools and community systems.

Amber’s approach focuses on building safety, regulation, and connection within our community.

Amber has extensive front line experience working with children and families in our community within the non-profit sector, health care, and school setting. She is a strong believer in meeting clients where they are at to build their regulation capacity, heal, process and embrace their authentic selves.

As Saskatchewan's first and only Certified Synergetic Play Therapist, Amber brings a unique modality and expertise to Saskatchewan that is innovative, highly effective and powerful in working with children and their families. At the heart of her approach with clients of all ages is a deep understanding of Interpersonal Neurobiology, Somatic Attachment Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Amber’s space is safe and affirming for all genders, bodies, brains, identities, sexualities and cultures.

In her consulting work, Amber understands the real constraints educators, caregivers, and organizations face every day. The time limits. The staffing shortages. The pressure to “manage behavior” without adequate support. Her approach bridges evidence-based practice with practicality and available resources.

As a parent of two, Amber brings lived experience alongside professional expertise, offering grounded, practical support that resonates with families and educators alike.

At the core of Amber’s work are these values:

Neurodiversity-affirming
A strengths-based approach that honors the many ways brains, bodies, and nervous systems function. Individuals are met where they are, with care tailored to their unique needs, preferences, and safety—without pressure to conform, comply or mask.

Trauma-responsive
Moving beyond trauma awareness into meaningful, actionable support. This work prioritizes safety, choice, and nervous system capacity, recognizing how lived experiences shape behavior, relationships, and healing over time.

Anti-oppressive
An ongoing commitment to acknowledging and addressing the impacts of systemic racism, ableism, colonization, and inequity. This value shows up through reflection, learning, and creating therapeutic and consulting spaces that are respectful, inclusive, and accountable. Therapy can happen in any space, form and method that honors a client’s preferences and safety.

Connection as the foundation
Individuals of all ages feel most safe, secure, and able to grow when they experience genuine, attuned connection. Relationship is central to regulation, learning, and healing in therapy, families, classrooms, and communities.

Integrity-driven
Ethical, evidence-based, and practical work grounded in transparency and respect. Support is designed to be realistic, sustainable, and aligned with each individual’s values and lived context.

Amber Bayda Counselling & Consulting exists to help individuals feel safe in their bodies, and to equip them with tools that are self-affirming, effective, and sustainable.
